SitterListed is a directory, not an agency. Sitters list themselves, owners message them, and the dates, the care and the price are agreed between the two of you.
How it works
Owners search by service, animal and place. Open a profile, read the about text, the animals the sitter takes and the badges, then message them. There is no booking fee and no service fee: you agree the price with the sitter and pay them directly.
Sitters create a listing in a few minutes: services, animals, rates and area. Verified badges for a police check (Garda vetting in Ireland, DBS in the UK and the local equivalent elsewhere), pet first aid and insurance are checked by us. Featured placement and business plans are the only paid extras. Become a sitter.
House sitters list the same way. Paid or free in exchange for a stay is up to you and the owner.
Staying safe
Meet first. A short meet and greet before the first stay, with your pet, tells you more than any profile.
Check the badges. A green badge means we looked at the document. A badge never replaces your own judgement.
Put it in writing. Agree dates, routines, the vet's number and the price in your messages here, so both of you have a record.
Pay the sitter, not us. We never ask owners for money. Anyone asking you to pay SitterListed for a booking is not us.
