What we keep about you, why, who else touches it, and how to get it removed.

Who we are. SitterListed is run by SitterListed, Ireland ("we"). Contact: [email protected].

What we collect. When you register: name, email, country, optional phone and website, a password if you set one. When you list as a sitter: everything you put on your listing (services, animals, rates, about text, home details, town) and your photo. When you message or post a request: the text, your dates and your pets' details as you give them. When you ask for a verified badge: the document you upload, kept privately (see Retention). When you pay: Stripe handles the card; we keep the payment record Stripe sends us. From your browser: the pages you visit, counted by our own Plausible instance without cookies or personal data; a session cookie when you sign in.

Why, and on what basis. To run the directory you asked to join (contract). To email you about your account, messages and listing (contract). To keep the service safe, limit abuse and keep accounts (legitimate interest). To meet tax and accounting rules (legal obligation). Nothing else, and never marketing from third parties.

Who sees what. Your listing is public with your first name and the initial of your last name; your full name is not shown. Your town is shown, never your address. Your email, phone and website are never shown unless you tick the box. Messages are visible only to the two people in the conversation and, if needed to handle a complaint, to us.

Processors. Hetzner (hosting, Germany), Cloudflare (DNS and proxy), Postmark (email) and Stripe (payments), all under EU data-processing terms.

Retention. Account data while the account exists and up to 90 days after deletion in backups. Messages with the accounts they belong to. Requests until they close, then 12 months. Payment records 7 years (tax). Verification documents: kept privately while the badge is on your listing, so we can stand over it if asked; deleted when you ask us, when the badge is removed, or with your account. A rejected document is deleted within 30 days.

Your rights. Access, correction, deletion, portability, objection: email [email protected] or use Settings, then Delete my account. We answer within 30 days. You can complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland.

Children. The site is for people 18 and over.

Changes. We post changes here with the date.
